True wellness is found at the intersection of clinical mastery and intuitive connection. Dr. Chris is an alumnus of the prestigious University of Edinburgh where he qualified as a veterinary surgeon. The academic rigor of the University of Edinburgh along with a specialised degree in Bio veterinary science (focusing on animal behaviour) at the University of Lincoln has provided Dr. Chris with in-depth and unique insights into veterinary medicine and behavioural medicine.
This dual perspective - refined through over a decade of professional work in canine and feline behavioural training (starting in 2013) and front line clinical work (Starting 2009) has provided Dr. Chris with a rare level of diagnostic depth and insight.
Dr. Chris recognizes that the most complex behavioural presentations are often intricately woven into a pet’s medical and nutritional landscape, Therefore Dr. Chris applies a 'gold standard' of scrutiny to every case and believes that every patient, along with there pet parents, deserve a bespoke approach.
Dr. Chris’s mastery is further sharpened by his ongoing roles and experience leading Emergency and Intensive Care departments for hospitals in Oxfordshire and formally in Gloucestershire and Northamptonshire. In the high-stakes environment of critical care, precision is paramount; Dr. Chris brings that same exacting standard to all of his patients, offering a bespoke, medically-grounded path to harmony and peace for both pet and owner.
Meet Dr. Max Chang (Senior Vet surgeon)
Dr Chang is a veterinary surgeon whose work is dedicated to the intersection of clinical medicine, ethics, and behavioural wellness. A graduate of the University of Edinburgh Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, he brings a clinical perspective and a global background to the emotional health of his patients.
His foundation in animal behaviour was established through research in the United States within the Human Animal Interaction Lab under the direction of Professor Monique Udell. During this time Max contributed to studies in comparative ethology, specifically examining the evolutionary social structures and cognitive differences between domestic dogs and wolves. This deep understanding of natural instincts allows him to offer a science led approach to wellness, helping owners move beyond simple habit breaking to foster a truly intuitive and harmonious bond with their companions.
In addition to his clinical background which includes a rotating internship and experience in primary care, Max holds a role in clinical governance and ethical oversight. Working alongside national regulatory bodies including the Home Office, he serves on Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Bodies to uphold and advance gold standard welfare protocols.
Max believes that true wellness is proactive. By combining his surgical clinical background with a kindness first philosophy, he specialises in creating environments where pets can thrive mentally and physically. He is passionate about empowering owners with evidence based strategies to ensure their pets enjoy a life of emotional balance and optimal health.
Meet Jen Leslie (senior animal behaviorist)
After years of training in psychology and working with vulnerable individuates Jen decided to complete additional training to become an advanced practitioner in canine behavioral therapy (level 6).
Many dogs can show signs of frustration, aggression, and or changes in there appetite when there is an underlying behavioral problem, especially if the dog has traveled from over seas. Jen is passionate in her work with these cases and continues to develop her knowledge via advanced training, scholarly research, and regular multi disciplinary meetings with the clinical team.
We are privileged to have Jen on the team. With her help we have been able to provide truly bespoke care to many complex cases.
